Sony PS4 unique features with Diablo 3 in 2014

We have heard plenty of details regarding Diablo 3 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, but hardly anything on the status of the game in relation to the game’s release on the PS4. Thankfully, we’re pleased to give you a release update on Diablo 3 for next-gen consoles, but unfortunately confirming at the same time that the game will not be available to play until sometime in 2014.

It looks like this will be with good reason though. Blizzard has recently given a very insightful interview, telling that the team has only just received PS4 development kits from Sony, hence the delay. However, they also revealed that the game will be available in 2014 because they do not want to just give the game a standard port.

Instead, Blizzard has confirmed that the PS4 version of Diablo 3 will be treated as a separate case, with Blizzard developing the game with the DualShock4 controller in mind. That means that you should expect to see unique features such as touchpad support, while Blizzard has also confirmed that they will be making use of the PS4 Share button in an ‘interesting’ way for users.

So there we have it. It’s obviously a big disappointment that the game will not be launching with the PS4 as initially thought, but fantastic on the other hand since Blizzard will be giving the game extra effort and attention in comparison to the PS3 version. Hopefully this also means that the next-gen version will look significantly different as well in the graphics department.

With all of this in mind, you now have the big decision to make on whether to pick up the PS3 version of Diablo 3, or play the long waiting game for the PS4 version instead with unique DualShock4 features. Let us know what you plan to do below.
