Sony may have won the gaming community over with their PS4 showing at this year’s E3 expo, but it looks like the company are not stopping in their tracks just yet. You may have presumed that GamesCom 2013 would be the next notable event in which Sony will attend, but we can now confirm that Sony will be taking their PS4 console to Comic Con 2013 in San Diego as well this month.
As Comic Con annual attendees will be well aware, this year’s event starts this Thursday on July 18. While the expo will be the perfect opportunity to find out the latest news on upcoming Marvel games and movies, this year’s event is going to be slightly special with the confirmation that Sony are giving hands-on playable time to those attending.
For the first time, the public will now have the chance to play the PS4 live on the show floor, with Sony revealing that games such as Knack and Drive Club will be playable at Comic Con. Drive Club is particularly exciting as the flagship racing game that will launch with PS4 this Holiday season, so head on down to San Diego if you want to have the first opportunity to play it before anyone else.
Aside from these two PS4 titles, Sony will also be offering a selection of PS3 and PS Vita games for fans to play, with titles such as Batman: Arkham Origins, Diablo 3, Killzone Mercenary and The Walking Dead just some of the big guns on offer. Having a playable version of Killzone Mercenary is a very big deal for all PS Vita owners, considering the game is not due out until this September.
Knack seems to be getting unfavorable feedback from some consumers at the moment, so having a playable build of Mark Cerny’s game at Comic Con could improve the situation somewhat. Do you have your tickets for the big event? If so, let us know if you will be reserving some of your time to visit Sony’s booth.
