Sony KDL40R483 40-inch LED TV review with superior specs

We have spoken a lot about many different Samsung TVs to buy this month, but we haven’t really covered enough on what Sony has to offer you as well. The Sony KDL40R483 40-inch Full HD Freeview HD LED TV is now available with a discount, which is surprising considering it is one of Sony models recently produced this year.

Unlike many TV discounts which are exclusive to US consumers, you’ll be pleased to hear that this is one especially for our readers in the UK. The Sony KDL40R483 specs are fantastic for the price that we’ve seen too, with Sony offering a 40-inch display that is Full HD supported with a 1920×1080 resolution.

Other specs include Motionflow XR 100 Hz technology, which will help to enhance the picture quality above and beyond the native refresh rate. Sony does not specify what that actually is, but we imagine it to be either 50Hz or 60hz.

This TV has multimedia features in abundance which is why most of you will probably find this TV so appealing. For starters there’s Freeview HD which will give you access to the usual channels in which you would receive via standard Freeview.

Then on top of that, this TV is WiFi supported as well so you can use the included MHL support to insert a streaming media stick for even more goodness.

There’s two HDMI ports in all, which some may think is too less. However it should still be sufficient for most users, although you may need to plan ahead in advance if you intend to hook this up with various set top boxes and a gaming console.

Sony even has room to squeeze in Screen Mirroring and DLNA support, making it a true powerhouse in terms of multimedia content. The MHL feature is one of the highlights for us as it will essentially transform this TV into a Smart TV.

Sony has a stellar reputation when it comes to picture quality and we can see that this has been reflected in the Sony KDL40R483 reviews that we have read. Take a look for yourself and let us know what you think about this model.

We’ve also included the a diagram of the connection setup on the rear of this TV, showing you the exact ports that are included which is great to study before you buy.

Finally, you’ll find the Sony KDL40R483 manual here for anyone that wants to download a copy for yourself as future reading material.

Does this sound like your dream TV? Argos are currently offering a stunning discount on this model which is easily the best price that we have seen, so let us know if you manage to pick one up.
