We have some good and bad news to bring you now, all to do with the Sony Ericsson Anzu handset that we told you about recently. A lengthy list of early specs for the device has leaked out, but it looks like this handset will only be shipping with Android 2.1.
We’re not sure what is going down at Sony Ericsson HQ, but last time we checked, the rest of the world was preparing for Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
As reported from Engadget, the handset does include some decent specs such as a 4.2-inch capacitive display with multitouch, 12 megapixel camera, 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, 720p video recording and ‘Noise Supression’.
The good news however, is that the handset, also known as the Xperia X12, will be upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo shortly after release, and then to Gingerbread after that – still though, it’s not really good enough is it when the likes of the Nexus S will be shipped with Gingerbread.
No details on a release yet. Let us know your thoughts on this handset launching with Android 2.1.
