It looks like Sony Ericsson has been keeping very busy over the past few months. Not only have they launched the new Xperia Play and Xperia Neo handsets, but they also unveiled the upcoming Xperia Mini and Mini Pro smartphones at the beginning of May.
Now it appears that they are working on a new smartphone, which comes in the form of the ST18i (codenamed Urushi). According to gsmarena.com, the ST18i is expected to run on the same hardware as the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, but feature a smaller 3.2-inch display.
The guys at gsmarena.com managed to get hold of some new images of the device recently and according to their tipster, the previously leaked ST18i smartphone will come with an Adreno 205 GPU and have a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset with a Scorpion CPU under its hood.
Meanwhile the ST18i Urushi’s display will reportedly feature a resolution of 854 x 480, and come with the proprietary Bravia Mobile engine. The handset will run on the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread OS, and have the same 8MP camera as the Arc, which comes with LED flash and 720p video capture.
There has been no mention of pricing, but the ST18i smartphone is slated to launch sometime in September. You can view the images via the gsmarena.com link. Are you looking forward to the official announcement of the Sony Ericsson ST18i Urushi phone?
