Sony Dash: Pre-order and Release Date Info

Recently at CES 2010 Sony announced a personal Internet viewer (PIV) called the Sony Dash, we are now hearing that the Dash is now available for pre-order direct from Sony’s website.

The device costs $199.99 and will arrive on April 15th, it features a 7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, WiFi connectivity and a USB 2.0 port. The Dash is compatible with all of the Chumby’s widgets and apparently there are over 1500 applications available.

These applications and widgets allow multimedia playback and let you check and update your Twitter/Facebook and use services such as Netflix.

The most disappointing thing about the Dash is that it does not feature a battery, this means that it needs to be plugged into the mains to operate.
