Here is some exciting news for those movie lovers and Sony lovers alike. It seems VUDU, who are a movie streaming service provider that claim to have new movies available years before Netflix, have struck a deal with Sony meaning it will feature on all Blu-Ray players Sony has on offer this year.
The streaming service will also come with a choice of 1080p 3D or 2D titles that can be viewed on a pay-per-view process. This means that you will now be able to view 3D movies, with 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound quality with Sony’s latest 3D compatible hardware, almost always on the same day that they are available for sale on DVD.
A list of the Sony Blu-Ray models which have been confirmed to feature the VUDU streaming can be found in the article by Chris Davies at Slashgear. The list includes the Sony BDV-E780W, BDV-E580, BDV-E280, BDP-S780, BDP-S580, BDP-S480, BDP-S380 and BDP-S280.
More details can be found in the article by clicking the link above, where there is also a full press release and you read how VUDU released an update for the PS3 earlier in the year and plan on featuring Move control soon.
