Social happiness on iOS 5 release date for iPad/iPhone

It is looking as though the release of iOS 5 will offer users social happiness for the iPad and the iPhone, if we are to believe what was reported earlier today. We have no reason not to believe that Facebook app support is not coming, all we can say is — about time. We already know that Twitter has deep integration within the new OS, so Facebook has to play catch-up — even though it has not been their fault.

Whenever you speak to those with an iPhone or iPad one issue that keeps cropping up is the lack of social integration, so it’s nice to know that Apple has finally listened and will soon offer what consumers want. When the company first came up with the OS for the iPhone and now the iPad social media was not a big deal, so it was not considered of much importance. However, the Cupertino company knows that they now have to up their game if they hope to keep their iOS in the game when it comes to social interaction with apps etc. One of the most recent social apps to come to the iPad was Skype, which we have been waiting on ever since the original version of the tablet was introduced last year.

There is so much more to the social aspect of the iPhone and iPad than just Facebook, but one has to realize that because there are more than 800 million users, a healthy percentage of them will own an iOS device. Think of it like this, going back a few years when you gave someone a business card or offered them your personal details, all it was, was a phone number, then a cell phone number, followed by an email address. However, nowadays it is your social accounts, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace etc.

Previous versions of iOS never gave you the option to enter such details, but the upcoming version has addressed this small issue, which you can see from this screenshot that appears on AllThingsD. Now that Apple has finally realized that the way to consumers hearts is social happiness now maybe we will finally see them start to accept more apps with these social features?
