If you are in to skiing or perhaps live in an area which is quite prone to snowfall you will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on snow forecasts in 2011, we have recently came across a few apps which will keep you updated with all the useful snow-related information.
Australia and New Zealand residents may want to check out Coastalwatch’s Mountainwatch.com Snow, this app costs $2.99 and is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPhone, it is said to be the first-ever app which brings you snow and mountain weather information for these areas, features include snow video cams, snow reports, snow forecasts, snow alerts, snow news and resort info you can find out more about this app here.
Another great app to check out is Quiksilver Snow, this app offers the same features mentioned above however it is completely free, again it concentrates on resorts in Australia and New Zealand, it is in fact powered by Mountainwatch.com, which pretty much rules out needing to spend $2.99 on Mountainwatch.com Snow.
If you are a bit of a geek when it comes to snow news and forecasts you should definitely check out gigaom’s article which compares 10 snow-related iPhone apps, according to Nick Santilli it seems as if SnoCator and Ski & Snow Reports are the best apps to check out.
You can see a lot of other apps which offer snow forecasts etc here, also let’s not forget that normal weather apps should keep you up-to-date with all of the latest snow-related news, great iPhone apps to check out include Weather+, Weather!, The Weather Channel® Max and The Weather Channel® Max for iPad, there are lots of other weather-related apps to check out here (make sure you check out the app’s rating).
I hope that these apps help you keep updated with all of the latest snow forecasts and news, perhaps you know of a better app or have developed one yourself, feel free to email me to let me know about it, or leave a comment below.
