SNL Android app release date jealousy over iOS

Forget Valentines Day. For many comedy lovers in the US, this weekend was all about the brand new SNL40 app for iPhone and iOS devices that NBC recently launched.

Unfortunately though, it looks like Android owners have been given a royal slap in the face at the same time. SNL40 is so popular right now on social media, with the app giving users the chance to relive some classic moments from the show’s 40 year history.

Imagine that disappointment when NBC launched the app to massive fanfare, then Android users rush to the Google Play Store for the SNL Android app download only to find that it’s not there.

The official word is that the SNL Android app release date is ‘coming soon’, but of course Android users will have heard those words too many times and coming soon can often mean months later.

At the moment, SNL40 for iOS is exclusive to Apple device owners only and we can see that there’s a lot of jealousy going round on Twitter.

Is NBC effectively saying that Android owners are not as important as iPhone owners? Hopefully we’ll be able to update you soon with news of the Android download.

For now, if you are on Android let us know your thoughts right now. Are you a bit mad that you can’t enjoy the SNL40 app for Android at the same time, but instead are being separated into a pot?

I don’t care. If NBC wants to piss me off then I’ll take my business elsewhere. There is great comedy on Netflix

So stupid of SNL/NBC. Completely dropped the ball as others have said. Why not prep the App to be ready alongside the Apple version or at the very least within 48 hours of Apple’s. Bad marketing move.

2007- 90% of all smartphone apple
2010- 12.1% of all smartphone apple
Would u be happy with the way things ate moving ifbu were apple. Lose the apple arrogance and use ur 80 billion to buy a clue and get all the millions of people who have left apple for android

Who cares, apple has been like that for the last 5 years, u know the five years that saw apple go from 90%of all smartphones down to a pathetic 12.1% of all smartphones. If u r still making iOS before android u r like the dinosaurs, too big and too slow to change and destined for extinction

NBC drops the ball on the snl 40 app. I would think the target audience would be mid 30’s to late 40’s. 41% of this age group uses android where 36% are iPhone users, seems like someone didn’t do the math. Chris Farley would say “what’s the hold up”! I agree with all that say android users won’t give a rats a$$ in a month or two. Have fun with that NBC

It’s only available 4 iOS 8 users which really sucks.
