Sniper Elite 3 update screened before Xbox One release

The Sniper Elite 3 Xbox One release date isn’t until June 27th in the UK, or July 1st for those of you in USA, but already we are seeing a 10GB day one patch expected. This is according to a screenshot, seen below, which reveals the massive download and first Sniper Elite 3 update.

It is not clear why the Sniper Elite 3 update is needed, why the size is so big, or even how comes someone managed to screenshot the fact there’s an update already out before the games official release date.

Sniper Elite 3 will also release on PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360, although we haven’t heard about any updates for these platforms or if they’d be very large as well. When the day one patch release notes arrive, we’ll be sure to give the finer details to our readers.

If you manage to get an early copy of Sniper Elite 3 and know more about the 10GB patch notes, then share a comment below to let others know why the size might be so big.

Update: Euro Gamer has published details on the day one patch and reason why it’s 10GB. It looks like this patch will reduce the install size of Sniper Elite 3 overall and mean the size of the next patch can be reduced a lot. There’s also improvements within the patch to help the game run smoothly in 1080p on both PS4 and Xbox One, although the day one patch will need to be downloaded on all platforms and will be smaller on last generation machines.
