The Snapchat Power Save Mode was added to Additional Services within the recent iOS app update last week, and with it came thousands of comments from users wanting to learn more about this new feature. The latest iPhone app update also introduced improvements, bug fixes, and the ability to now double tap when sending a quick reply.
While everything beneficial was welcomed with the latest update, it’s the new Snapchat power save the majority wanted to get to grips with and find out what happens with you turn this mode on. Those of you that experience iPhone battery life problems will certainly want to pay attention to the new feature and could find it useful.
What does the Snapchat power save mode do after it’s turned on? After you activate the new feature you’ll find push notifications turned off, and this will stop new Snapchats being sent to you through the iOS 7 notification service. That will stop flashing and vibration notifications, although once you enter the app you’ll be able to see any new Snapchats quite easy.
The benefits of turning the Snapchat power save mode on are obvious and increased battery life is certainly one of these benefits, if you receive a lot of notifications. If you want to use new Snapchat effects, you can enable them by selecting “Manage” under Additional Services that can be found within the settings menu. Once you’re here, just activate the effects you want and use them by swiping right or left after taking a picture.
