Small Business Saturday 2010: New Facebook Movement

How many times have you gone into a local restaurant and enjoyed the meal and service, or a local store and wanted to spread the word about just how great it is? Well you can with the aid of the Small Business Saturday Facebook page, and takes place today, November 27, 2010.

This Facebook page will allow a small business to become much bigger, thanks to the power of The Social Network. This is the first time that this has been done, so will be interesting to see just how today goes.

To join in the new movement, you just have to click the ‘Like’ button on this page; you will be pleased to know that you are now doing your bit to support your local business. We all love the big stores with their huge discounts, but how nice is it to go to a local small business and for them to call you by your name and have a friendly chat?

American Express is also getting in on the event, the credit company is supporting small businesses by offering a $25 statement credit to their card members when they shop at a small business today. Do you think that this will become a yearly event, and will it prove popular? For more details visit Facebook.
