Although the Internet is a great way for searching and booking flights, you may not always have access to a PC or laptop at the time you want to look. That is why flight search applications come in really handy, and there’s definitely enough of them available.
One example is the recently released Hipmunk flight search app, which allows users to search and book specific flights based on airlines, flight times, duration and prices. Another example is the Skyscanner app, which provides data for over 600 airlines and travel agents.
As Mic Wright over at electricpig.co.uk recently noted, the Skyscanner app for iPhone (also compatible with the iPod Touch and iPad) is definitely a must-have travel app. The app uses your handset’s GPS to determine your current location, and shows flight options from the nearest airports.
Once users find the flight of their choice, the app enables them to share that information with other people. As noted on the itunes.apple.com website, the Skyscanner app – which is available in 23 different languages — displays all airlines, including budget and scheduled ones.
The Skyscanner application saves you time and money, and features data for over 700,000 routes across the world. The app does require your device to be running iOS 3.0 or above. Have you ever used flight search apps such as Hipmunk or Skyscanner before?
