It has been a long time coming, but at last we have the news PC players have been waiting to hear. Bethesda has given a solid release date for when the highly anticipated Creation Kit will arrive and they have even hinted of a further surprise coming as well.
The Creation Kit was arguably supposed to release alongside the PC version at launch in November, but it obviously wasn’t ready and Bethesda later gave a revised release for January. January has now come and gone of course and we didn’t get the Creation Kit or the Steam Workshop as initially promised.
We’re not too bothered about waiting an extra few days now as Bethesda boss Pete Hines has just revealed on his personal Twitter account, that the team are looking to release the Creation Kit on Tuesday 7th February – just days away. That’s not all either, as he even suggested that there is an extra surprise in store as well, possibly to make up for the long delay for the custom tools.
Pete Hines: “For our Skyrim PC fans, the Creation Kit is on track for release on Tuesday. And, we also have a special surprise with it.”
There’s no mention of the Steam Workshop in his Tweet though so we’re hoping that they are still planning to include those tools along with the Creation Kit. We have seen some amazing mods created so far for the game now, all without the use of the Creation Tools. It is going to be very exciting to see what clever modders can come up with to make additional content for the PC version of Skyrim even better. A recent preview of the Creation Kit shows how users will be able to create their own quests – this in itself can create hours and hours of enjoyment, it really is mouthwatering stuff for Elder Scrolls fans.
