Skype With 2011 Panasonic Connected TV and Logitech Cam

As the competition for connected TV continues to heat up, Skype also continues to expand by offering its services across the technology board. The latest news sees a three way relationship emerge between Panasonic, Skype and Logitech

If you are the owner of a Panasonic Viera Connect HDTV which is Skype compatible you may feel that it lacks in visual capabilities when it comes to video calling. This no longer has to be the case, as we find out with today’s news, thanks to Logitech.

The company has produced a TV camera which allows for up to 720p viewing. This will now allow for high-latency video calling making the experience all the more worthwhile. Although it is said to have similarities to the camera which can be used for the Google TV device the Revue, it lacks the full 1080p video.

The Logitech TV Cam features blue lighting for a futuristic look and will be made available before the end of the month. $149.99 will be enough to get your hands on one if you are interested, and a full press release with more details can be found at Engadget by clicking the link.
