Gamers in the UK who are using their Xbox 360 console to watch Sky Go content may be feeling the pain right now after discovering that they’ll soon be charged to watch the same content, on top of their subscriptions.
Sky Go is available for Xbox now, but a Sky Go Extra app for PS4 and PS3 will soon be available in the coming months. After reading about the drama on Xbox though, some of you may be worried about the stealth price increase landing on PlayStation as well.
Sky Go Extra will be replacing Sky Go as of July 29, 2014 and those currently using the service on Xbox 360 have received letters informing them about the change and the extra charges that will be needed.
As far as we’re aware, it will start off with a £2.50 a month fee, but will then be increased to £5 thereafter. We have located a thread on Sky’s official forums, with consumers venting their anger further over the move.
Was looking forward to Sky Go on PS4 later this year. Not now @skyhd want to charge £5 more. Going to charge people on tablets/laptops next?

Cheeky from @skyhd taking away access to Sky Go on games consoles unless you pay £5 a month for Sky Go Extra. @eurogamer

Just to make it clear though, these changes will also affect those planning to watch Sky on the PS4. Aside from paying your usual subscription to Sky, you will need to pay an additional fee to enjoy Sky Go Extra on both the PS4 and PS3.
Hopefully if enough of you make your voices heard, Sky may be forced do a u-turn, just like Microsoft did. If you are a Sky customer in the UK and were planning to enjoy Sky on your console, let us know your thoughts on this.
