Sky Anytime Plus: Only for Sky Broadband Customer

Sky has been behind when it comes to on demand service- something that Virgin Media and BT Vision have dominated. However, Sky is all set to launch Sky Anytime Plus later this year, but this service is not available to all as we once thought. You will need to be a Sky Broadband customer to take advantage of this new on demand service.

For Sky HD subscribers, the service will not cost you a penny and will give you full access to more than 500 movies and hundreds of hours of other content. Stuart Miles from Pocket-lint spent some time looking into the new service from Sky and also has a video on their website showing us it in action.

The news that this new service will only be available to Sky Broadband customers will not go down well with other Sky customers who currently have broadband with the likes of BT and others. Sky has said that they aim to offer Sky Anytime Plus to all its customers at a later date. We wonder if there will be an investigation into this, as it hardly seems fair.

Sky will launch a new wireless box for those who do not want to connect their Sky HD box with an Ethernet cable. This new Wi-Fi box looks like a smaller version of the Sky HD box — we have to say looks cool.

For those of you who have recently signed a new contract with your broadband provider — then we are afraid that you will have to wait a little while longer for the Sky Anytime Plus service. Please let us know how you feel about this catch, add your comments below.
