Should Bad Company 3 be main BF game of 2014?

Battlefield 4 may be closing in on the official launch with the open beta now live on all platforms, but there’s still many gamers who are wondering what has happened to another Battlefield series. Of course we’re talking about the more laid-back Bad Company series of games and we have a welcome update to give you now, on the possibilities of Battlefield: Bad Company 3 having a release date in 2014.

If you have played previous Bad Company games in the series, you’ll know that it is more like a light-heartened approach to the Battlefield warfare, with more emphasis on team humor, team interactivity and more destruction based elements throughout the game.

Bad Company 2 was a great game to play when cruising around maps with friends, which is why we’re very happy to hear news on the potential future of the series. It looks like Bad Company 3 is firmly on the horizon, as DICE has given us the clearest indication yet that the series is definitely not finished.

Look what DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson had to say when speaking at a recent Battlefield event, as noted by Polygon:

“When it came to Bad Company, it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously. But trust me, the Bad Company [team] isn’t forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation. So they are out there, they’re coming back. My feeling is that I would love to do it.”

That quote right there basically tells you all you need to know and is obviously very reassuring. As far as we’re aware though, a Bad Company 3 game may only arrive after the likes of Mirrors Edge 2 and Star Wars Battlefront is released.

Should the humor return next year with BF:BC3?
Should the humor return next year with BF:BC3?

Will the developer find time to still release the game in 2014 as EA’s main Battlefield entry of the year? We certainly wouldn’t have any complaints if we had that game to play and saved Battlefield 5 until 2015.

What are your experiences of Bad Company? Would you like Bad Company 3 to release in 2014 as the main BF game of the year or not?
