Shinobi on Nintendo 3DS: Release confirmed with leaked trailer

We have a real treat for retro gamers now, as it has been discovered that there is a super secret Shinobi game in the works for the Nintendo 3DS. However, it’s not so secret now as a leaked trailer has hit YouTube, confirming it’s existance.

The video itself is definitely real, although the video that has been uploaded to YouTube is unfinished, as it cuts off halfway through the trailer and is lacking sound as well.

It shows all of the previous Shinobi games to date, and then teases that a new game has been ‘reimagined’ for the Nintendo 3DS, before the video cuts off. VG247 has already heard from SEGA about the video, and the company told them to expect an official announcement soon.

We’re praying that this game also makes it’s way to other platforms, and not just turns out to be an exclusive on the Nintendo 3DS. Of course it would be great news for 3DS owners, but everyone else would like a slice of some classic 2D Shinobi action too right?

Check out the teaser trailer below and let us know your thoughts on it. Would you buy a new Shinobi game if it came out? What are your fond memories of the franchise – Revenge of Shinobi on the Megadrive has to be right up there with one of the best platformers of all time.
