Sharp Aquos Crystal India release demanded

Sharp has everyone talking at the moment as they have entered the smartphone market in a big way. The Sharp Aquos Crystal is now official and is heading to the US exclusively on Sprint. We have seen a growing demand though for a Sharp Aquos Crystal India release and it will be interesting to see if Sharp can deliver.

We are used to shopping for TV and other electronic goods whenever we think of the Sharp brand, but it’s great to see them try to change the game with a bold entry in the smartphone space.

Bold entry is certainly the key factor here as the Aquos Crystal is going to be a phone that doesn’t feature a bezel. We have all been dreaming of seeing bezel-free or edge-to-edge iPhones and Galaxy Note phones for years, but now Sharp has actually beaten everyone to the punch.

Sharp Aquos Crystal specs include a 5-inch S-CG Silicon LCD HD edge-to-edge display with a 720×1280 pixels resolution. There’s also a 1.2Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor on board with 1.5GB of RAM on top.

It’s an Android 4.4.2 Kitkat device with an 8 megapixel camera and expandable storage thanks to MicroSD card. The specs are not out of this world by any means, but that display is the real wow factor here and consumers will be buying it purely based on that edge-to-edge goodness.

Our Tweets that we have picked out for you above though, shows the high demand that India consumers have, in wanting to see this beauty arrive on their shores. Obviously there could be a long wait though, with Sprint seemingly having an exclusive on the device outside of Japan so it could be a while until an official India release is green lit.

That doesn’t stop you from importing though if you really want it at all costs. The device will arrive in the US towards the end of the year for $239.99 US without a contract.

If you live in India, let us know your thoughts on this phone and if you are already considering buying one as soon as it becomes available.
