SharkWatch! 1.2: Social networking app for iPhone

An app where users can share shark sightings and learn about the ocean predator has just received an update. SharkWatch! 1.2 is available for owners of the iPhone, and iPod Touch.

Released by California based Fortuna Mobile the app allows users to browse through sightings as well as adding their own. There is information of documented shark attacks dating back to the 1800s, with stunning images and details for the various shark species.

If you manage to spot a shark yourself you can create your own posting and share it from within the app via Facebook and Twitter. Using the ‘nearby’ feature users can find out if there have been any sightings in their area, and find out how far away any sightings have been. The Map All feature lists sightings throughout the world with regular updates.

SharkWatch! 1.2 is available on the App Store for only $0.99. iOS 4.0 or later required.
