So you have made the decision to get yourself a 65-inch 4K TV, but the next thing is whether you should go for a normal display, or one that is curved. We have come across two options for you, but two different brands, and that is the Seiki 65″ SE65UY04 4K 120Hz HDTV and the Samsung 65-inch UN65JU6700 UHD TV.
We thought we would choose these two models because we have already looked at several Samsung 4K TV models. Going with a brand such as Seiki also gives you a better idea of just how its specs and features compare to a better brand – those are the words most consumers would use.
Most people will say that it is obvious right from the start which of the two they would rather, but then again it is not as easy as you would think. Some people feel that the Seiki SE65UY04 would be a better option for them because of budget, and also not caring too much about curved displays, saying that it is a fad like 3D.
However, we know that if there is a chance of a price reduction, then the Samsung UN65JU6700 would be the TV for them, because even though it is not the newest model in the Samsung range, there are bargains to be had. The display panel has better image quality than the Seiki, and its curved screen allows you to become more engrossed in the action.
So lets look at their specs. The Seiki SE65UY04 specs are a contrast ratio of 3840 x 2160, 1.07 Billion colors, 120Hz refresh rate, 4K UHDTV (2160p), 5000:1 contrast ratio, 3HDMI ports, although it does lack Smart Functions.
The Samsung UN65JU6700 specs are 4K Ultra HD with a 3840 x 2160 resolution, Motion Rate 120, UHD Upscaling, DTS Premium Sound 5.1, built-in WiFi with Smart View 2.0 and 4 HDMI ports.
Current full pricing is $1,000 for the Seiki and $1,600 for the Samsung, and so you will need to weigh up just what it is you want from the 65-inch 4K TV.
