Seiki 40″ 1080p LCD HDTV LC-40G81: Contrasting reviews and Specs download

If you are on the lookout for a bargain television during the holiday sales and don’t mind choosing one of the lesser known brands, you may be interested in the 40-inch Seiki LC-40G81 LCD HDTV model, which will be available for a discounted price during next week’s sales.

Throughout the week we have been listing similar models which you may be interested in, but now we’re going to focus on this Seiki television. Unlike the brand new Element television that we told you about yesterday, this Seiki model is available to buy from places like Amazon, with consumers able to pick one up for around $450. You can expect this price to drop significantly though during the sales, so is it worth picking one up?

We can tell you some basic specs information on this model to give you an idea, as the LC-40G81 features a 40-inch display, a 1920×1080 resolution, a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 3 HDMI ports, a VGA port and a digital TV tuner. This TV also comes with a USB port and support for MP3 playback, JPEGs and MPEGS 1/2. For those interested in determining the exact quality of the HDMI support, we can tell you that this TV supports HDMI 1.3, not the newer 1.4 format.

On the official Seiki website, the official price listing is $499.99, but during the sales you should see this model with a few hundred dollars discount if you spend time searching. If you are interested in this model, you can download the official spec sheet PDF file here. There are two positive reviews on their website to read, which both state that the TV is a good purchase. However, if you are looking for another opinion on this model, you may find one review over at Amazon here ‘interesting’.

What are your thoughts on this model? Will you head out to buy this during the sales, or have you seen something better?
