SEGA Sonic Boom game graphics

SEGA are once again shaking up their Sonic franchise in a massive way and it’s now been confirmed that a new game is on the way called Sonic Boom. It’s going to be an exclusive on the Wii U and 3DS and we have the first SEGA Sonic Boom game trailer for you to take a look at to gather your thoughts.

Sonic Boom is clearly a massive direction change for SEGA and we can already see that in the Sonic Boom graphics change in terms of the character design. Sonic, Knuckles and Tails look significantly different to their designs from previous games and it’s a topic that has already become a heated debate on social media boards.

Many gamers have praised the change in design, but then again many hardcore are unhappy that the appearance of these characters have been altered in such a big way.

We think change is good however, and the level graphics for Sonic Boom in particular look amazing. It’s also worth pointing out that this game is being developed by Big Red Button, a rather secretive team that is made up of ex Naughty Dog employees – perhaps even though who have worked on Crash Bandicoot.

The game is due out sometime in 2014 and will feature a heavy influence of co-op, also allowing players to switch between the four characters at free will.

We will bring you much more feedback on this game soon, but for now we want your reaction to the character redesign – are you a fan of the changes or not?
