Security feature for iPad Air 2, mini 3 claimed

We can say with almost certainty that Apple will launch a new iPad Air and mini later this year, with October being the most likely month of its release. We also know that these tablets will sport iOS 8, which we should get a sneak peak at during WWDC on June 2nd, 2014.

Everything else we think we know is based on pure speculation, although we have seen time and again how a good percentage of rumors actually turn out to be true, and so Touch ID fans are hoping the latest rumor is the real deal.

According to KGI research, the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will make its way to the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3. And, for those of you who thought Apple might get rid of the feature, KGI also said it will be on the iPhone 6 as well.

Security feature for iPad Air 2

While there has been no mention of the iPod touch 6G with Touch ID, there is a pretty good chance it will come with this feature, although there is no saying we will even see the sixth generation model this year.

We cannot be certain what reaction you will have to this rumor, but having the security feature on the iPad Air 2 and mini 3 is sure to get a mixed reaction from iOS fans.

The reason for this is because some of you have complained about Touch ID being a bit hit and miss, although on the whole the system is well liked. Most of the complaints were made before the most recent iOS 7.1.1 update.
