Ever wanted to glide along on your board without having to make the effort of using your leg to push you off, but can’t be bothered to wait for a hoverboard to be invented? Then the Scarpar off-road Powerboard might just be what you’re looking for.
The electric motor powered skateboard, designed for all terrains was first announced as a concept last month but now it seems the developers have moved it from the prototype stage into the production line. Its Australian manufacturers have begun taking orders for the two different models.
The Scarpar Model S and Model X both are very similar apart from the power each is packing. The Model S comes with two 750 watt motors capable of pushing the board to speeds of 18mph, where as the Model X is slightly more powerful with its two 1.5 kilowatt DC motors and reaches speeds of 28 mph.
If you’d like to purchase one, a deposit must be made costing $600 or $500 depending which one you go for. When the powerboards finally arrive in December however be prepared to pay $3,800 or $2,800 again dependent on the model you are after.
