The great thing about the Internet is the fact that when you say something online, in many cases, the world will hear very quickly and at a rapid rate if you have thousands of followers on Facebook. This is what happened to Samsung Lebanon over the past week, which had been after replying to a comment on Facebook about the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date. They didn’t mention the exact launch date, but an official from the Samsung Lebanon social account did state that the Galaxy S4 wouldn’t see a release date before May 2013.
This comment obviously gained a lot of attention after being picked up by followers and technology websites, which led to a clarification on Friday. Samsung’s Lebanon Facebook account added, “What we said is only trivial“. This would be true as most people know that the Galaxy S4 is likely to release after April considering most Galaxy S series devices normally launch around then, but comments like this are normally given extra weight when coming from an official source.
Friday also saw the photo above emerge, which is claimed to be a press shot of the Samsung Galaxy S4. There’s been a lot of debate over this image and other pictures, which some get very technical about the images finer details. At the time of writing most Galaxy S4 fans are undecided on the authenticity of the picture. It is worth pointing out that Sam Mobile revealed the photo in this article.
Within the last 15 hours we’ve seen another update from Samsung’s Lebanon Facebook account, which is in relation to the Galaxy S4 comment made at the middle of this week. The latest posting states “we as a page have no news on the release of the Galaxy SIV, the info shared was done by mistake“. This alone shows that someone opened their mouth about something they know nothing about, or heard some details they shouldn’t have.
Do you think the Facebook accounts of Samsung know more about the Galaxy S4 release date than their fans? In our opinion we’ll see more pictures leak as we move closer to the official release date, but you shouldn’t expect that date to be until at least late April. You can see what seems to be the Samsung Galaxy S4 model number being verified via a video here.
