Samsung: Windows Phone 7 update still not working

A couple of days ago we reported that Microsoft had resumed pushing out its Windows Phone 7 update to owners of Samsung handsets. This followed problems reported by Samsung owners complaining of the software update bricking their devices. Now we are getting reports of more problems with the update.

Nancy Gohring over at PCWorld is reporting in an article, that users on a Microsoft help forum are reporting problems when trying to install the update on their devices. Owners are complaining that when they go to install the update they are met with an error code.

Microsoft is using Twitter to tell customers that they know about the issue, and advises people not to try and install the update again. They actually wrote to one user and said “sorry for your frustrations”, before when Microsoft originally started rolling out the update one in ten users couldn’t install the software.

But five percent of these cases had issues because of poor internet connection or not enough storage space on their computers according to Microsoft. When we reported the update had restarted Microsoft had said engineers had found the problem and dealt with it.

This may cause some embarrassment for Microsoft as it attempts to keep up with Android and Apple in the mobile market. Have you had any issues with the Windows Phone 7 update?
