Samsung UN55MU6290 review for PS4 Pro, Xbox One X

There is going to be a huge amount of interest in new Samsung 4K TVs this year, as gamers look to upgrade their TVs so that they can support the new 4K titles available with their PS4 Pro or Xbox One X consoles.

Samsung always has new models out each year and one popular one for 2017 is going to be the Samsung UN55MU6290 50-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV sold at retailers such as Kohls and Walmart.

This model offers some really nice features on board, such as 4K HDR Pro, 120 motion rate, UHD Dimming, 4K up-scaling, smart apps, 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports.

Is it suitable for true 4K gaming with the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X consoles gaming consoles though? You’ll need to know right away that this model does not offer HDR10 which Samsung offers on their Series 8 models and above with HDR1000 – the Samsung UN55MU6290 is only a Series 6 in comparison.

Another big factor in terms of being a capable gaming TV, is that this is only a 60Hz native refresh rate model despite Samsung’s 120 motion rate terminology. Having said that, this may effect PC gamers more than console owners since 60Hz is the maximum that the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X can support.

If HDR10 or Dolby Vision is important to you though, you may want to consider other options. For those that are looking for the best price on the Samsung UN55MU6290, this year’s holiday sales may see it drop under the $500 mark making it a very attractive proposition regardless of true HDR or not.

To see what other buyers have said about this model, we recommend you read through the Samsung UN55MU6290 reviews first. We have picked out these user reviews from Walmart and also direct at Samsung’s website which should give you all the information you need to make a decision.
