The Samsung NX5 four-thirds camera is now official and is a more affordable version of the NX10. We have known about the camera for some time, but the Korean consumer electronics maker has only decided to make an official announcement — better late than never.
Do not think that as this is a cheaper version of its bigger brother that it will be slow to perform — the NX5 knows how to make the best of its technology. The camera offers 14.6-megapixel, which works very well with its APS-C CMOS sensor and Samsung’s electronic viewfinder.
The NX5 does away with the more expensive AMOLED display that we see on the NX10 — instead going for a 3″ TFT LCD display. One of the best features has to be interchangeable lens support — making the NX5 very versatile.
According to Ubergizmo, the Samsung NX5 only comes in black and will be on sale in Europe for €699, and will be available from this month.
