Samsung ‘Nexus Prime’ a finalist in awards pre-release

The Samsung Nexus Prime is sure to get a release date for next month, although the device may launch under another name. It’s not easy making sense of the Nexus Prime rumors and we’ve tried to focus on the most solid news in the midst of apparent leaks, and today we have one of the more solid stories.

Some names of finalists have been revealed for the CTIA Hot for the Holidays Awards, and as you can see in the image below, thanks to this source and, you can see that a product is yet to be announced for the “Gamer and Entertainment Enthusiast” category, although we do know that product is for Samsung Mobile.

We’re pretty sure this will be Samsung’s Nexus Prime, and if this turns out to be true then those looking to buy this phone should get pretty excited, as for the Prime to be considered a finalist means it will be packing some nice hardware for the gamer and entertainment user.

You can see a full list of the finalists for the CTIA 2011 awards here, which point to what devices will be hot this holiday season. It is a bit strange that the list was shown so the online voting can begin, how can a vote be passed for a product not yet announced, unless we’re about to get a name within the next couple of days.

Anyone thinking of getting the Nexus Prime from Samsung, or whatever the name will be? The moment things get concrete we’ll let you know. You may also want to read about the possible weight issues for Nexus Prime, and also what may be the best Verizon smartphones in October.
