Samsung Infuse 4G Coming to AT&T: Price and Release Date

We haven’t really heard much about the Samsung i997 Infuse 4G smartphone, since it was first unveiled at the CES 2011 event back in January. That is all about to change however, as both AT&T and Samsung have now confirmed a price and release date for the much-anticipated handset.

According to a recent article by Bonnie Cha at, both AT&T and Samsung held a special event in New York today, in which they announced that the Samsung Infuse 4G handset would be going on sale as from May 15th, for $199.99 with a two-year agreement (no mail-in rebates).

As some of you may already know, the Samsung Infuse 4G is powered by a 1.2GHz processor and runs on the Android 2.2.1 operating system with the TouchWiz overlay. It boasts a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display, which provides better contrast and outdoor visibility.

The Infuse 4G HSUPA-enabled smartphone also comes with 16GB internal memory, an 8-megapixel camera that is capable of recording 720 HD video and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for making video calls. The phone also comes with a special edition of Angry Birds pre-installed.

AT&T is also offering the first 500,000 customers a $25 credit voucher, which they can then use with Samsung’s Media Hub video store. Are you thinking about buying a new smartphone? If you are, is the Samsung Infuse 4G a handset you’d consider?
