Samsung Gear Fit review uncovers capabilities

When Samsung revealed the Galaxy S5, they also unveiled three other products, all of which were wearable’s. These make up the new Gear range, and while two are all-out smartwatches, the other is focused more towards fitness. However, unlike similar devices, Samsung has given its cheaper wearable a few added features, along with a very pleasing design.

We’re sure that some of you fitness fanatics out there will be interested to see how a Samsung Gear Fit review would go considering the consumer electronics company has been making some bold claims about the new device, and from what we have seen, you will not be disappointed.

Galaxy Gear Fit design — The design of this device is very beautiful and comes with a 1.85-inch display of the curved Super AMOLED variety. Colors come to life, which is a good achievement on such a small screen. Now the response when you touch your finger on the Gear Fit is not as responsive as we would like, but it’s pretty good for a first effort and is far more advanced than rival products, the Fitbit Force and Nike+ Fuelband SE.

Testing the Samsung Gear Fit — When you take the device out of the box and then place it on your wrist for the first time you need to touch the button on top of the display in order to turn the Gear Fit on or off. This does take a bit of getting used to, but we can see why they have put it there.

What we do find strange is how the device will go to sleep and is woken up by wrist movement, which after a while can become annoying, although you can turn this auto wake-up off in the settings. The software is very simple to use and takes no time at all to get to grips with, and you can personalize this to your needs. In order to use the Gear Fit to its true potential you need the S Health App.
