Samsung Galaxy Tablet Rumored To Be Unveiled Next Week?

If we take a look at the portable computer and tablet world right now, it’s obvious that the Apple iPad is running things, but fresh information has come about that could potentially see the lid opened on the new tablet coming from Samsung, rumored to be named the ‘Galaxy Tape’ or ‘Galaxy Tab.’

By now, if you have been following any info on the Galaxy Tablet then you should know roughly what it is coming prepared with to take on the iPad. If not, we will give you a brief overview.

The new Samsung Galaxy tablet comes in the Android flavor, and measures in at 7 inches with a 1.2 Ghz A8 processor, a super AMOLED screen, 16GB internal storage, 32GB MicroSD expansion and weighs in at 0.82 pounds. Reuters are also reporting that the device could be named the Galaxy Tab or Tape and will use Samsungs TouchWIZ user interface, or otherwise look like the company’s Galaxy S phones.

But what makes us think the announcement could come next week? Well, Samsung are holding a press event on August 11, where they have carefully selected a host of tech press to “celebrate a new dimention of wonder with new products and announcements.” If you put two and two together, you can see why the internet is hyped towards Samsung unveiling their new tablet device.

If Samsung do infact reveal the new Galaxy tablet, it looks as though we could have a genuine tablet-war on our hands. I for one, cant wait. Can you?
