Samsung Galaxy Tab: Verizon’s Missing Apps

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be released on Verizon and Sprint from next month, and we already have pricing details for both. We had assumed that the tablet would come packed with a host of apps, but it seems as if a few will be missing on Big Red.

Nilay Patel from Engadget has learned that Verizon will not be offering NFL and Skype Mobile, as well as V Cast Video on launch. This will understandably come as a disappointment to some of you, and we do not even have details how long after launch we will have to wait.

The biggest loss has to be Skype, not being able to use the voice chat app will be a huge blow for those who wanted the device mainly for talking to friends and family. Hopefully it will not be a long wait, but we are uncertain if it is just down to an incompatibility with apps or something more serious?

November will be judgment time for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, as this will be the first tablet device that will go head-to-head with the Apple iPad. There have been mixed reviews about the Tab, although this looks to be a good performing device, it will take something special to dethrone the iPad.
