Samsung Galaxy S8 release time confirmed for April

There had been rumours that Samsung was to bring the launch of its Galaxy S8 handset forward and show it off during their CES 2017 keynote. However, once the issue with the Note 7 started to arise, it became apparent that this would not be the best course of action, as we have seen just how wrong Samsung gets things when they rush a release – and so the MWC was much more feasible.

Samsung has been using the Mobile World Congress as their platform to launch a new Galaxy S series smartphone for years now, and so it was always more likely that this would still be the case this year, and so it came as no surprise that the South Korean company would more than likely be showing off the Galaxy S8 during MWC 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 release date

Having said that, there have been some conflicting reports that a special event will be held in New York City this April for the S8, so what does that mean for the Mobile World Congress?

From what we can make out we can expect the Samsung Galaxy S8 release date to be some time in April, although we do not have a specific date just yet. The report states that the parts needed to make the handset will arrive at the manufacturing facilities in February, and that mass production will begin in March. Samsung is then said to have 10 million units ready to ship in April, which is a huge amount and it would seem Samsung believes sales of its next flagship will not be affected by the Note 7 issue.

In terms of expectations, the Galaxy S8 looks set to be a vast improvement over its predecessor, and Samsung must be confidant by producing 10 million handsets.
