Samsung Galaxy S4 visual with no home button

There’s no doubt in our minds that the hottest Android prospect due out in 2013 is the Samsung Galaxy S4. We’ve heard many rumors on the elusive device such as a dazzling OLED-based 1080p display, but so far Samsung hasn’t budged and are continuing to remain tight-lipped on their next flagship device. The Galaxy S4 hasn’t showed up at CES 2013 yet, but we do have one very exciting rumor to share with you about potential features of the display screen that will be used for the device, including an image which is thought to be the first ‘official’ image seen.

The annual event is currently ongoing as we speak in Las Vegas and all eyes are on whether Samsung will steal the show with a last minute Galaxy S4 unveiling to wow onlookers, consumers who are eager to see the device and of course rivals who will want to know what Samsung’s latest phone can do in terms of hardware specifications.

We mentioned about the idea of OLED technology featuring in the Galaxy S4, but that remains a distant rumor for now. One feature that has been discussed more frequently is the possibility of Samsung using an edge-to-edge display. We hoped to see this on the likes of the Galaxy S3, iPhone 5 and Galaxy Note 2, but it didn’t happen unfortunately – perhaps the technology was just not ready.

However, 2013 could be set to change that completely, as Sam Mobile has uploaded an image which they claim could be the first look at the Samsung Galaxy S4. As you can see, a full edge to edge display in the region 5-inches is there in its full glory and we can only wait with anticipation to see if Samsung really has this lined up in their portfolio. Another major talking point based on this picture is that we may be seeing a Galaxy S4 without a physical home button – a feature that will be a hot topic among Galaxy S3 owners no doubt.

That means that Samsung will make use of virtual buttons for home button purposes and we have to say that it would be a fantastic move for 2013, with the emphasis solely focused on that gorgeous edge to edge display. Other rumored specifications of the Galaxy S4 include a quad-core Exynos 2.0Ghz processor, a 13 megapixel rear camera and 2GB of RAM. It goes without saying that it will also ship with the latest version of Android – which could very well end up being Android 5.0 Key Pie Lime, but if not then surely Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

So there we have it. The first, but still rumored picture of the Samsung Galaxy S4 – does it meet your expectations? 2013 could be the year of the edge to edge displays and we definitely like the look of that based on this S4 image. Give us your thoughts on the design and also the possibility of the Galaxy S4 having no physical home button.
