Samsung Galaxy S4: prophesying release date for carriers

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced back in March, and while they gave us details on the many great features of the new flagship handset from Samsung, what was missing was an actual released date from US carriers, but this was to be expected. We were given a rough timescale, but nothing set in stone.

When it comes to prophesying the Samsung Galaxy S4 date, we pretty much know two of the carriers, who have already got their pre-order details live for the upcoming smartphone. The two are AT&T and U.S. Cellular, with the former allowing customers to pre-order the S4 on April1 16, and an expected release date of April 26, although it was thought that Sprint would also offer the pre-order this weekend, but that has yet to happen, as all you can do is register your interest.

Having said that, we do not expect it to be too long before the Sprint Galaxy S4 pre-order goes live, as we are getting ever closer to its release.

As for the Galaxy S4 release date, we know for certain that the T-Mobile version will be available from May 1; the other players have yet to show their hand. We had first assumed the S4 would be released in the last days of April, but this does seem highly unlikely, as some of the other carriers will want to give it a couple of weeks following the release of the HTC One.

Okay, so we know that the S4 will be the more popular of the two if we are to go by the success of the S3, although you cannot guarantee anything these days. A recent rumor suggests that US carriers will stagger their Galaxy S4 releases, and it does seem as though AT&T will be the first, and as usual Verizon will probably be the last.
