Samsung Galaxy S4 2013 ad is a creative winner

Samsung has released a new 2013 commercial for the Galaxy S4 and it is easily one of our favorites from Samsung so far. In an interesting contest that slipped under the radar over in Switzerland, Samsung offered the chance for one lucky contestant to walk away with a brand new Galaxy S4 in their hands – as long as they could complete their ‘test’.

This test, was in actual fact, a brilliant social game set up in the public space of Zurich Main Station on May 16 – challenging passers by to stare into an interactive Galaxy S4 booth for one hour. The booth had been set up with the Galaxy S4’s own Smart Pause function, which is able to track a user’s movements and detect when they look away from the display screen.

The challenge was simple: stare into the makeshift booth for one hour and walk away with a new Galaxy S4 – with one hilarious catch though. Samsung used a variety of methods to try and distract the user as they attempted the one hour stare down, including a variety of props and actors set up especially for the event – an arguing couple for example and hot dogs being thrown before their eyes.

Eventually a winner was chosen – to an almighty fanfare from those watching on in the station. You have to hand it to Samsung’s creativity department on this one, as you’ll find it hard not to enjoy watching this latest ad. The only disappointment that we can see, is that Samsung haven’t yet brought this game to other regions.

Watch the video above to see for yourself and let us know your thoughts on it. Is it one of the best Samsung commercials that you have seen in recent months?
