If you are already in possession of a Samsung Galaxy S3 in the US, you’ll be pleased to know that the device has now been fitted with the new Music Hub application, giving you the ability to centralize all of your favorite cloud music services in one easy to access place.
Spotify is considered to be the number one choice when it comes to streaming music, but if you are looking for the best solution specifically on a mobile, then the Samsung Music Hub will surely interest you. It has been optimized for use on the Galaxy S3, but will soon be rolling out for other Android devices as well.
It integrates the likes of Spotify and iTunes into one, so all of your music is together into one place. You can use the app to play your entire collection offline, or you can subscribe to Samsung’s premium service for Music Hub at a cost of $10 a month. This will give you instant access to over 19 million songs via streaming, while like Spotify, there’s also an offline mode available as well for times when you are not on a good connection.
There’s a neat little feature to bring up lyrics to a certain track while listening, and you can also use the Music Hub to listen to thousands of radio stations as well if you prefer. A lot of consumers may not want to break away from their current Spotify premium subscription, but the incentive of an integrated service which also includes iTunes may be tempting.
The only downside to this at the moment, is that you’ll need a Galaxy S3 if you want to enjoy it right now. Otherwise, you’ll have to sit back and wait until another Android device gains support – we’re guessing the likes of the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S2 will be next in line.
Have you tried out the Music Hub yet? If so, what are your initial impressions of it – worth abandoning iTunes and Spotify for $10 a month or not? We’ve included a useful user review below so you can get a general idea of how everything works – you can get started with the service here.
