Samsung Galaxy S: U.S. Release Date ‘Later This Year’

Roughly a fortnight ago we posted an article showing off the Samsung Galaxy S’s impressive super AMOLED display, this article attracted a lot of attention, therefore this following article may be a little disappointing for U.S. citizens.

Recently Samsung made the Galaxy S official in Europe, which suggests that European carriers will soon begin offering the impressive smartphone, however a U.S. release is looking pretty distant.

A U.S. release date has not yet been confirmed, however Engadget are reporting that it should be available in North America “later in the year”.

It seems as if the fourth-generation iPhone, HTC EVO 4G and Droid Xtreme will be dominating the smartphone market over the foreseeable future, therefore in my opinion Samsung need to launch this handset in North America pretty soon.

Do you think the Samsung Galaxy S can be a suitable alternative to the fourth-generation iPhone?
