We have an exciting update for those of you looking for information on the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone which is set to hit the market this year. We have now heard some fresh details regarding specs, and also details on the possibility of the device releasing as soon as April this year.
If you tuned into CES 2012 this past month, then you may be aware that Samsung may have already given us the first glimpse of the Galaxy S3 as detailed in our previous article here. Now though, we have some much more juicy rumors to share with you, with the source of the information coming from an individual who may already have his hands on the device.
Thankfully, the person in question Eldar Murtazin has wasted no time in sharing information on the supposed Galaxy S III and according to him, the device will be an Ice Cream Sandwich handset equipped with a speedy 1.5-1.6GHz quad-core processor – no word on if it’s a Tegra 3 device yet though. Other rumored specs for the device include a 12 megapixel camera and an HD screen of some sort, but the exact size was not specified as noted by Droid-Life.
As most of you are aware, the device was absent from an official announcement at CES, but we could be seeing the first unveil of the Galaxy S III at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. Considering how popular the Samsung Galaxy S II is and the original Galaxy S before it, the idea of a third smartphone in the Galaxy S family will be a mouthwatering prospect, especially if it comes with a quad-core processor.
It also seems as if high quality cameras are now starting to become standard as well with all new smartphones, which is pleasing to see. Hopefully we have seen the last of new devices shipping with a 5 megapixel camera, as don’t forget we have already seen Microsoft and HTC announce the HTC Titan II, a Windows Phone powered device which will come equipped with a mammoth 16 megapixel shooter.
How excited are you about the inevitable Samsung Galaxy S III announcement? Will this be the handset that you are definitely buying this year if it comes with a quad-core processor? We’re not sure about an April release date though, as that seems far too quick in our opinion though – of course we hope we’re wrong.
