We told you a few days ago that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II was getting some upgraded specs on release, but the release could be getting pushed back. But for those of you looking to pick up Samsung’s shiny new smartphone, the company has just released a launch date for the device.
Vlad Savov over at Engadget is reporting in an article, that the much sought after handset will be landing in the UK on May 1st. This follows an official press release form Samsung which confirms the Galaxy S II will be in shops on that date.
Recent reports were stating the handset would not become available until May 6, so five days earlier will be welcome news for those who are looking to buy the Samsung. In the press release it is confirmed the device will be powered by a dual core 1.2GHz processor.
The handset is promised to have really fast connectivity with speeds up to 21Mbps, and Bluetooth 3.0+HS which also reduces data transfer times. Samsung are calling the Galaxy S II their slimmest, lightest, and fastest smartphone to date. It is also going to be available across all major carriers in the UK.
