Samsung Galaxy S II: Download free SIM unlock code from Android Market

We have some really good news for those of you with a Samsung Galaxy S II handset and are wishing that your handset wasn’t tied down to a specific carrier or network. A clever individual has released a free SIM unlock App onto the Android Market and it works like a charm.

The app is called SGS2 SIM Unlock Code Finder and it’s available to download free on your Galaxy S II. The app has been designed by an XDA Developer funnily enough, and he goes by the name of Odia. The release onto the Android Market has been provided by Chainfire.

The app works by simply scanning for an unlock code, and the app can also search for a unfreeze code which will help you out if you suddenly have an unresponsive handset. Full steps on how to operate this app can be found over at Redmond Pie, as they have included the instructions, as well as a few handy screenshots of the app in action.

One thing to remember though, is that if you don’t see the app available in the Android Market, you may need to install Market Enabler for it to show up. For those of you who have a Samsung Galaxy S II and are seeking a SIM unlock, try this method out and let us know if it works for you, or if you run into any problems whilst using it.
