Last week’s Consumer Electronics Show saw a whole host of products being launched, debuted and unveiled some more of a surprise than others. The Samsung Galaxy Note was included amongst those devices being launched, as it will be making its way over from Europe to make its US debut.
When it was first announced to be headed across the pond at CES, AT&T was reported to be the exclusive carrier. Of course the question then followed from a lot of disappointed subscribers of other carriers concerning whether it would be headed to any other carrier in the US. Now new reports are suggesting that the Big Red Verizon Wireless is also to stock the tablet-smartphone hybrid as the Samsung Galaxy Journal, although nothing official has been announced yet.
According to the article we previously brought you about the Galaxy Note’s US launch, the date when it will be kicking off is thought to be February 14th. As the Examiner explains the evidence that the hybrid device is headed to Verizon comes from their trusted industry analyst, Paul Mueller who was the one who not only suggested the device was headed there but to Sprint also. He is also the person who believes there may be a name change when it does eventually launch.
The Galaxy Note is packing a 5.3” Super AMOLED D display and is described as being a high-powered mini-tablet. It comes equipped with a stylus and can also be used as a phone. If this news turns out to be true, and judging from the reliability of the source is most likely is, then T-Mobile look to be the only carriers that will miss out on this Android Powered goodness.
What do you think of the Samsung Galaxy Note? Are you pleased it is heading to the US?
