Samsung Galaxy Note 2 reveal pinpointed

It looks like the rumors regarding a Samsung Galaxy Note successor could be true after all. Speculation has been running wild about the Galaxy Note 2, but it still remains at this point a rumor until officially confirmed by the company.

However, we may be closer to finding out whether a Note 2 is in the pipeline, as Samsung has now confirmed that they will be showing off ‘the next Galaxy’ device on August 15. Details are incredibly scarse at the moment, while you can imagine that there is plenty of excitement over what the new ‘Galaxy’ device could be.

The leading contender is the Galaxy Note 2 of course, but there is also the possibility of Samsung using an event on August 15 to unveil a brand new Galaxy Tab device with a quad-core Exynos processor. We also found it rather amusing when we read on several message boards that we could be seeing the ‘Galaxy S4’ or the ‘Galaxy Nexus 2’.

It’s fair to say that both of those smartphones mentioned above won’t be announced on August 15, as there would be some pretty livid consumers if Samsung did pull such a stunt after forking out for either one. It seems like the Galaxy Note has hit a reach hot streak with consumers at the moment, so it really does make sense for Samsung to announce a successor with all of those rumored specs we’ve heard about to take on the inevitable Apple iPhone 5.

The August 15 event is definitely happening, but Samsung are remaining noticeably muted other than that. Perhaps they are waiting for consumers to make all sorts of wild assumptions first to build up a bit of excitement, before dropping further details.

What are your thoughts on this folks – it has to be the Galaxy Note 2 surely?
