Samsung favors Android over Windows RT tablets in US

It looks as though Samsung is sticking fully behind Android as they have just announced that they will not be releasing any Windows RT tablets in the US, and this could mean that the South Korean tablet maker does not see a market for this device? No matter what you or I think this will be a huge blow for Microsoft to lose such a big player in the business, even though there have been a number of key players willing to back the platform.

Samsung has not taken this decision lightly as it has been reported that they studied feedback from retail partners and the results were not that positive, because it showed that a Samsung Windows RT tablet release would be moderately successful in the US. They looked at ways in how to make a success of such a tablet but it showed that it would take far too much investment when compared to what they would receive in return.

However, Samsung has not fully ruled out a Windows RT tablet, but for now they would rather wait it out and see how the market develops, and this could also have an affect on Samsung’s plans to release a Windows RT tablet in other countries as well.

Some consumers will feel that there is nothing wrong with Windows RT and for the most part that would be right, the lack of developer support just one reason, but the OS itself is decent enough. However, the real issue is that there is not enough marketing for RT to better explain the platform. Some people will say that Microsoft are playing catch-up yet again and that Windows RT is a little too late to the party, but would you agree with that assumption?

The biggest issue that Microsoft has is the fact that Samsung are known for picking up every OS, so what does it say that they are hesitant with Windows RT?
