Samsung Epic 4G: Rooted before Release – Download Links and Tutorial

Another day, another Android root to tell you about. This one is pretty significant though, as it is the Samsung Epic 4G, which will go on sale later today from Sprint. Will you root your device after purchasing?

As reported from Phandroid, the Samsung Epic 4G follows other Galaxy S phones with a straight forward and easy to install root method.

Credit goes to SDX for achieving the root, you can head to their forum here for a full set of download links and installation guide.

What does this mean for the Epic 4G? Well, just like the Droid X, it means that a custom ROM may become available in the future, once developers have had time to play around with the device. The Droid X custom ROM took a while, but it’s finally out – we wonder how long it will take for the Epic 4G to follow suit.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you planning to root your device or not?
