Samsung Droid Charge: Verizon Launching Smartphone May 14

The much-anticipated Samsung Droid Charge handset was originally due to arrive in Verizon Wireless stores back in April, but customers were forced to wait a little bit longer than expected for its arrival, after the smartphone’s launch was unfortunately delayed.

We do have some good news now however; as according to a recent article by Tim Stevens at, Verizon has now confirmed that the Samsung Droid Charge will in fact be available to purchase in stores as from Saturday, May 14th (tomorrow).

For those that need reminding, the Droid Charge is powered by a 1GHz processor, runs Android 2.2 and features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display, a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel camera round the front.

The Droid Charge — which also comes with a virtual QWERTY keyboard with Swype technology, mobile hotspot capability and Adobe Flash Player compatibility – is in fact Verizon’s second 4G LTE smartphone, with the first being the HTC Thunderbolt.

If you want to buy the Samsung Droid Charge handset, you will be able to pick one up for $299.99 with a new 2-year contract. Have you been waiting for the Droid Charge to arrive in Verizon stores?
